The HTML5 specification introduces the &lt;audio&gt; and &lt;video&gt; media elements, and with them the opportunity to dramatically change the way we integrate media on the web. The current HTML5 media API provides ways to play and get limited information about audio and video, but gives no way to programatically access or create such media.

We are trying to derive the best possible structure for all of the information needed to be stored about the video. We also do not want to repeat information, here is what we have identified would be repeating data (we called this the manifest):<br/>

        <subtitle in="00:00:33:07" out="00:00:35:09">an open network that lets anyone</subtitle>
        <subtitle in="00:00:35:10" out="00:00:37:11">participate without asking permission.</subtitle>
        <subtitle in="00:00:39:00" out="00:00:41:11">The Internet is what lets M.I.T student Jeffrey Warren</subtitle>
        <subtitle in="00:00:42:00" out="00:00:45:06">use kites to map an oil spill. </subtitle>
        <subtitle in="00:00:47:06" out="00:00:48:07">well wait a second why do we have to go all the way</subtitle>

        <subtitle in="00:01:06:00" out="00:01:08:09">The Internet is what allows Steve Song and his friends</subtitle>
        <subtitle in="00:01:08:10" out="00:01:10:11">to create a D.I.Y. phone network</subtitle>
        <subtitle in="00:01:11:00" out="00:01:12:00">called the Village Telco.</subtitle>
        <subtitle in="00:01:12:00" out="00:01:16:00">Everyone that has a device, that we call a mesh potato,</subtitle>
        <subtitle in="00:01:16:00" out="00:01:18:00">actually has a phone number</subtitle>
        <subtitle in="00:01:18:06" out="00:01:20:06">and can call anyone else on the mesh at no charge.</subtitle>

        <subtitle in="00:02:02:08" out="00:02:05:05">through a series of walled gardens, and we had to ask</subtitle>
        <subtitle in="00:02:06:00" out="00:02:08:00">permission to publish our content or create new services.</subtitle>

* Need an id in the video tag to be able to target it with popcorn
* It seems like you cannot access the same target with different resources - for example, I couldn't switch between sending Twitter and Footnotes to the same box as the Wikipedia

* you need to escape your html with entity tags in the footnote in order for it to work (CDATA might also work)
* check your xml syntax by going to the page in a browser and making sure it is being read properly, a tag that's not closed, or a character in footnotes can really mess you up
