MozCamps are regional events that play an important role in training up active contributors and community leaders. They are part of an event ladder to engage, train and reward would-be to core contributors culminating with the Mozilla Summit serving as Mozilla's global leadership summit.

MozCamps bring together Mozilla staff and lead Mozilla contributors from all areas of the project for two full days of presentations, discussions, brainstorms, work sprints, hackfest and of course, a little bit of fun :)

While the main focus is on community leaders and active contributors, MozCamps also aim to bring up future leaders, those Mozilla contributors who have been particularly active in the past 6 months and represent the next generation of Mozilla leadership in the community.

On Friday, 11 November 2011, a very informal welcome event will take place from 5pm to 9pm, so as to make sure everyone gets to know each other a bit before the intense weekend begins. (''More details to come'')
This MozCamp will be an exceptional event for all of us. The web is moving fast and Mozilla is growing ever faster. MozCamp is a unique opportunity to meet together and synchronize our vision and activities in Europe as we prepare for 2012 and beyond.

When and Where

MozCamp Europe 2011 will take place in Berlin, Germany from November 12th to November 13th, 2011 at the Kalkscheune. Doors open at 8am, keynotes kick-off at 8:45am.

UPDATE: On Friday, 11 November 2011 from 6pm to 9pm an informal welcome event will be organized at the Kalkscheune (MozCamp venue) with free beer and currywurst! There will also be a special screening of "Code Rush". (More details here)
