In October, the People Team will be launching the On-Boarding program at Mozilla. As part of this program, individuals will be given directions on how to obtain an On-boarding package from the Gear Store. This package will include the *essential* Mozilla Gear that will help them get started! Look for more info on this topic from the People Team soon. For any questions, please email onboarding at mozilla dot com.

=== Does my team have a budget for gear?  ===
Teams most likely did '''not''' budget for gear. However, gear usage as well as any shipping and customs/duties/taxes associated with those requests are being charged back to each team on a quarterly basis. Please check in with your HRBP if you have questions on that process.

During Phase I, gear will be available for such scenarios as recognition and reward, events and team morale. If you would like to purchase t-shirts for personal use (or to give out to friends!), please continue to do so through the Mozilla Foundation.

Moving forward, we will investigate options for personal orders within the current store and whether to re-launch a public-facing store where gear is available to anyone for purchase. More updates to come in Q4.
=== Who can help me with a custom order?  ===
We can! When you need to place a custom order, '''always''' fill out the 'Additional Comments' section of the traditional bug form with more information about your order and how we can be of help. (This includes an item not available in the store or customization work.)

At this time, the Mozilla Foundation has decided to focus its gear around its Webmaker program and its own system, and won't be using this site.  If you have any questions about gear, please contact Michelle Thorne and michelle at mozillafoundation dot org.
Please note: Due to space limitations, gear is not available at every Mozilla space. More information about requesting gear from Mozilla spaces can be found [https://wiki.mozilla.org/GearStore/SpaceRequests here].

===What are Team Budgets?===

Great news! Each team has their own official gear budget. These budgets have been  assigned to each team based on the number of paid-staff and volunteers on their team. It doesn't sound like fun (or at least to some), but we need be able to track what we spend, when we go over budget, and have  the flexibility to get more if needed.  At the same time, it means that all teams have the power to reward and recognize other Mozillians.

===How are team budgets allocated===

Budgets have been assigned to each team based on the number of paid-staff and volunteers on their team.  For our beta, we determined this by talking to teams, through the Mozillians phonebook, and by reaching out to Stewards.

===Will we have a public store again for fans to buy gear?===

We'd like to evalulate some form of this for 2013, but our priority is getting gear into the hands of Mozillians.

===Are there plans to provide *all* Mozillians with access to the store?===

Currently, volunteers are able to access the store and select gear using our voucher system.  We'd like to investigate how we might leverage the Mozillians phonebook to extend full access.

===Do Mozilla Reps use this system to order gear now?===

No - Mozilla Reps are enouraged to rely on their current, well-establihed method for ordering gear for events and projects. Of course, you can always gift a Mozilla Rep a voucher!

===How do volunteers - who aren't Mozilla Reps - request gear for events?===

Volunteers who are not Mozilla reps can still request gear on Bugzilla by choosing the 'Swag Request' option [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Marketing here]. When possible, please request gear here at least one month in advance.

===Is this store public?===

The Gear store is not currently public, but accessible by Mozillians -- both paid and volunteer staff.

===What about special orders? I don't see what I want in the store.===

If the Gear on the store doesn't meet your current needs, you can work with your Gear coordinator to place a special order with Staples.This includes an item not available on the store or customization work.

===I want to help - how can I do that?===
We'd love help - everything from items you would like to see added to the store, feedback on functionality, help coordinating gear in spaces or for teams.  Please email gear at mozilla dot com if you'd like to help.

FAQ

Can I purchase gear for personal use?

On March 31, 2016, Mozilla shut down gear.mozilla.org. With that closure, there is no longer a way for Mozilla enthusiasts to purchase gear.

Who can file a bug for gear?

Any Mozillian can file a bug to request gear to recognize another Mozillian's efforts, as long as it fits within the approved use guidelines. Paid Mozilla staff can also request gear for other purposes (i.e. events, campaigns) through this bug.

Mozilla Reps should continue to rely on their current, well-established method for ordering gear for events and projects. And Mozillians who are not Mozilla Reps can request gear for events through a Rep in their area. When possible, please request gear from a Rep at least one month in advance.

Does my team have a budget for gear?

Teams most likely did not budget for gear. However, gear usage as well as any shipping and customs/duties/taxes associated with those requests are being charged back to each team on a quarterly basis. Please check in with your HRBP if you have questions on that process.

Is there special gear for new hires at Mozilla?

The People Team now manages the new hire onboarding program at Mozilla. For any questions, please email onboarding at mozilla dot com.

Who can help me with a custom order?

We can! When you need to place a custom order, always fill out the 'Additional Comments' section of the traditional bug form with more information about your order and how we can be of help. (This includes an item not available in the store or customization work.)

What if I have a last minute request?

If you need gear within the week, please indicate so on the bug and we will assign the bug to a Space Gear Coordinator who will do their best to assist you from within your space.

Please note: Due to space limitations, gear is not available at every Mozilla space. More information about requesting gear from Mozilla spaces can be found here.
