Welcome to the Mozilla QA Community Daily Testing Project

In 2006, one of the highest priorities of Mozilla Quality Assuance is to include interested community members in the daily operations of Mozilla QA. This will not only include manual test execution, but many other areas in Mozilla QA projects. (see Future Project Items below) This project is intended to become one of the main portals for community members to participate in Mozilla Quality Assurance. Welcome aboard!

State of the Project

Currently prepped for "beta" evaluation of project communication and flow with daily smoketesting schedule. The beta period will begin 2006-02-13 with a few individuals from Moz QA and several invitees from past community test days. The initial smoketesting project will go public 1-2 weeks later depending on beta feedback.

How to Contribute

When we go live this will be a complete set of instructions. For now, while we're in beta, a basic outline for the current project.

  • Interested participants will subscribe to an email alias for team communication.
  • They will review the calendar and request days/builds they wish to test.
  • The day they are scheduled to test, they will retrieve the appropriate build then execute the smoketest test cases from Litmus.
  • A results links page will be posted to show the test results reported in Litmus.

Rewards

We'd like to show our appreciation for regular reliable contributors. Specifics haven't been ironed out yet, but the following are likely:

  • Monthly - Mozilla store gift certificates to top contributors. (TBD)
  • Monthly - Mozilla store gift certificates for standout contributors. (TBD)
  • Outstanding contributor granted Project Lead (as the project expands into muliple areas, we'll need community members to step up and take lead on many of them. We just don't have the numbers at Mozilla to take on everything)

Future Project Items

This list is by all means not complete or set in stone.
