Overview

Members of the ReMo provisional council will meet in Paris for a 3 days of discussions, brainstorms and workshops to discuss and plan for phase 2 of the Mozilla Reps program and define a roadmap for the next 6 months.

Discussion topics and idea (not in any order of importance)

• defining/assigning specific tasks/goals to reps every month/quarter
• how can we best monitor progress without spamming Mozilla reps
• rewards (karma points?) --> when you reach a certain level of points you get a cool prize? dangers of doing that?
• SIGs (fleshing out Marketing, PR, l10n special interest group wiki pages)
• content and format of weekly updates to be sent on reps-general and reps-webdev mailing lists
• Mozilla Rep of the week/month? (ie. weekly or monthly highlight of outstanding reps?)
• Interviews of council members (30 second clip)
• Rep training workshops (video tutorials and physical training wessions)
• SOP 2 minute screencasts
• future of provisional council (rotation every 6 months if voting system not yet implemented?)
• voting system
• vouching procedure
• dynamic check list that displays progress of mentorship and beyond...
• do some see ReMo as possibly alienating some members of the community? Are we creating a separation between reps and non reps?
• should english-speaking skills be mandatory to fully participate in ReMo?

This is a tentative schedule. Please feel free to edit and tweak as you see fit. We'll be discussing this on Sunday during our council meeting.

7-July (arrival day)

• rest and relaxation before the intense 3 days
• possible prep-dinner in the evening for those who have already arrived but NOT mandatory

8-July (Day 1)

• short welcome intro/status update from Pierros and William
• 5 min "Who am I" presentation from each participant (presentation template to be distributed shorty)
• short pep talk + Q&A from Chris Beard (TBC)
• Lunch
• discussions: what's working? what's not working? ways to improve moving forward?
• task planning for next two days:
  • identify key areas that need improvement
  • SOPs that needs to be tweaked/drafted
  • SIG pages that need to be defined/created
  • video tutorials that need to be created
• Night out - Paris by night

9-July (Day 2)

• short recap of tasks defined earlier
• SOP workshop
• SIG workshop
• Lunch
• Video workshop (unleash your inner director!)
• Brainstorming on ReMo voting system

10-July (Day 3)

Paticipants will be staying at the Hotel Ibis Grands Boulevards, a 5 minute walk from the Paris Mozilla office.

NB: although the hotel room is pre-paid by Mozilla, you will be asked to leave your credit card number at the reception desk as a garantee in case of damages and/or extra expenses such as mini-bar items, room service etc.

Food

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be organized and paid for by Mozilla from the morning of July 8th to the evning of July 10th. Free snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the work week.

Pierros will send an email a few days before the work week to tell you where and at what time to meet for an informal prep-dinner on Thursday evening. NB: if you have special requests in terms of food, contact Pierros or William!

Friday

Because of the size of the group, we will not be able to hold the first day of the meeting at the Mozilla Paris office. Instead, the group will meet in a meeting room at the Club Confair, located a short walk from the iBis hotel.

Transport

Getting to/from the Mozilla office to/from your hotel

It's a short 5 minute walk.

If you're heading towards the office, head south on Rue du Faubourg Montmartre and then turn left on Boulevard Poissonnière until you get to number 28.

If you're headed to the hotel, west on Boulevard Poissonnière then turn right on Rue du Faubourg Montmartre until you reach the hotel.

Getting to hotel from CDG airport

Taxi: it will cost you 60-70 EUR and it will take you 30min-50min depending on traffic.

Bus: it will cost you less than 20 EUR for a return ticket and it will take you 60 min. This special bus is called the "Roissybus" and you can buy a ticket at an automatic machine or at a human ticket counter.

• Frequency of departure from Charles de Gaulle >> Paris (Opéra) : 6h00 à 20h45 every 15 minutes

The Roissybus will end its journey near the Paris Opera house, on the corner of rue Scribe and rue Auber. From there, it's a 10 min walk to the hotel.

Train: it will cost you less than 20 EUR for a return ticket and it will take you 50 min. You can buy a ticket at an automatic machine (only accepts EU credit cards though) or at a human ticket counter.

• From the airport, take the "RER B" train going towards Paris and get off at "Gare du Nord" then take the metro line 4 that goes towards "Porte d'Orléans" and get off after just one strop at "Gare de l'Est". Then take line 7 that goes towards "Mairie d'Ivry" and get off at "Le Peletier". You're then a few minutes' walk to the hotel.

Frequency of departure of bus from Paris (Opéra) >> Charles de Gaulle : - 05h45 à 20h00 : 15 minutes - 20h00 à 22h00 : 20 minutes - 22h00 à 23h00 : 30 minutes
