This page can be considered home of a Balkans' communities initiative to work together on a well defined goals with a purpose to improve and grow.

Goals

Except goals which are the same for Mozilla as a community, we have defined a few more concise ones to lead us on our way to spread the word about Mozilla, enlarge our communities and make our ecosystem even better.

  • Define what is unique to the Balkan region (ie. region-specific market research)
  • Actively recruit new active contributors
  • Organize large events called Mozilla Balkan meetups in each Balkan country
  • Ensure that Firefox and Thunderbird are localized in every Balkan language
  • Create infrastructure which will foster collaboration of all Balkan communities

Communities

List of all active contributors on Balkans can be found at contributors page.

Join us and get involved!

Meet-ups (Mozilla Balkan)

Every once in a while we try to hold a community event somewhere on a rocky Balkans. So far 3 events have been held. Brief descriptions of them can be found below:

Mozilla Balkans:2011 - Sofia, Bulgaria

The meet-up took place in Sofia, Bulgaria in June. As always, both Mozilla contributors and staff joined their forces in helping local communities grow faster and collaborate better among themselves. Schedule for this event was discussed at Sofia Event Page.

Mozilla Balkans:2010 - Ljubljana, Slovenia

The meet-up took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia in early December. As always, both Mozilla contributors and staff joined their forces in helping local communities grow faster and collaborate better among themselves. Schedule for this event was discussed at Ljubljana Event Page.

Mozilla Balkans:2010 - Skopje, Macedonia

The meet-up took place in Skopje, Macedonia and began on Friday 21 May, with a private Mozilla staff/community meeting, followed by a public event open to everyone on Saturday 22 May, and finished on Sunday 23 May, with a private wrap-up meeting with Mozilla staff and community.
