Firefox OS App Days

What: A series of App Days celebrating Firefox OS will take place in 10-20 locations around the world. Most of these App Day events will take place either on Saturday January 19, 2013 or Saturday, January 26, 2013.

This program is designed and organized by Mozilla's Engagement team in collaboration with the ReMo (the Mozilla Reps program) and the Mozilla community.

Our Goals

  • Inspire and amplify grassroots developer momentum worldwide
  • Educate and inspire developers to work on apps and submit them to the Firefox Marketplace
  • Create opportunities for local developers to showcase their apps
  • Gather sign-ups and raise awareness of the developer phone program

  • Example schedule:
  • 9:00am Check in.
  • 9:30am Introduction to Firefox OS & Apps Marketplace
  • 10:00 - 11:30am Screencasts and/or local speakers/demos of FxOS and phone
  • 11:30 - 12:00pm Q& A
  • 12:00 - 1:00pm lunch
  • 1-5pm: app hacking
  • 5-7pm: demos & pizza & beer or local equivalent - party-time.
