Badging contribution and web literacy

Badges.jpg

Webmaker badges are designed to recognise contribution from the community to further Mozilla's mission of creating a generation of webmakers. Initially we will use the Open Badges Infrastructure (OBI) to enable those participating in our training to earn badges that recognise their enthusiasm, participation and, most importantly, their contribution.

Once the Webmaker badges are operational we will turn our attention to Web Literacy badges, credentialing and encouraging mentors who demonstrate the ability to teach competencies and skills identified in the Web Literacy Map. They will use our exemplar Teaching Kits to scale our impact as a community and reach our goal of 10,000 contributors by the end of 2014.
