==Summary==

=== History ===
The Mozilla Student Reps program (initially named Campus Reps) was founded in 2007 to promote Firefox and engage new contributors to the Mozilla Project at universities. At its peak, the program served over 3,000 student advocates and 35 regional volunteer leaders in over 70 countries. Student Reps succeeded to build a global membership, although important components of the program (i.e. the brand and website) lacked localization in communities it sought to support. Additional setbacks in the program’s growth included limited staff resources and an organizational framework from which student leaders could operate independently.

The formal Student Reps program has been largely dormant for the past two years, yet student and young contributors still number in the thousands—comprising a major volunteer base—and play an integral role in the promotion and development of Mozilla Project.

=== Mission ===
The Mozilla Student Reps program will re-launch in December 2011 with the following objectives:
* Integrate program with the overarching [[ReMo|Mozilla Reps]] volunteer leadership organization
* Serve as a stepping stone for young contributors to get involved and advance their skills
* Provide volunteer onboarding curricula that empowers students to take the lead
* Guide student contributors to different functional areas throughout the Project
* Graduate qualified Student Reps to the Mozilla Reps program
