The idea behind Jetpack Dock was pretty simple: web application tabs clog up the browsing tab bar. While add-ons that pin tabs help (only show the tab's favicon), the tab bar still becomes crowded when many tabs are open. This is where Jetpack Dock comes in. People can store their favorite or most-used web applications to the Dock--a dedicated space in the browser that remains unobtrusive to open browsing tabs, and with a single-click opens the stored web page (without adding another tab to the tab bar).
