When all of a sudden six beavers came from Southwest Angry Buzz the forest quailed before the glare. The jar of trees was broken like pigeons singing.
there's lots of opportunity for Mozilla to give our users a way to express themselves as fans throughout the World Cup and football in general. Mozilla wants to support this, and multiple parties are interested in helping. Lets group up and find the best way forward.

=== Firefox Cup Campaign (Country Flag Personas) ===
Owners: Laura, Julie and Barbara + Ryan

====[https://wiki.mozilla.org/File:2010_Firefox_Cup_Campaign_DRAFT_V1.pdf Current campaign proposal draft]====
* Create a Persona "flag" for each of the 32 teams
* NoBox will be creating all 32 of the Personas.
* We should also try to create a few generic football personas e.g. green pitch background and black and white footballs.
* Ryan coached that we will need to upload all Personas under a single user account e.g. called Mozilla Country Flags / Mozilla Soccer. We are not able to create a separate football category or search, but can create a gallery for a specific user (via their account ID).
* Using a single user account has a plus and minus - it mitigates the issue of lots of copyrighted football imagery for the World cup, at the same time in a doesn't easily allow a showcase other created football personas. If anyone has an idea for a work around to show other football related personas from the Sports category, that would be great.

====Contest idea====

* Laura had the idea to create competition between countries by encouraging them to wear a personas for their team, and promoting this to other to wear during major games. We would tweet out who was winning the game between 2 countries based on the numbers of installed personas. Great for rivalry and makes for fun social play.
* Ryan pointed out that the update pings happen every 24 hours... so this would be hard to measure and would be better to assess over 48 hours (ADU counts take a couple of days to reflect actual usage).
* Liked the idea of creating a Football country leader board with the number of country installed flags
* Pride incentive to have your country win -- could be a change to Mozilla.com with the winner's country flag shown for X days?
* Added concept to get community involved is to add a vanity url points systems where people can get points for every download they refer.
** Top ten referrers for each country get Firefox swag at the end of the tournament.
*** Vanity URL Requirements: https://wiki.mozilla.org/index.php?title=WorldCup2010/VanityURL/Req

==== EU PR plans include:====
* offer set of world cup persons (e.g. flags of participating countries
* offer a 5 step "how to create a persona" tutorial
* conduct an online survey on plans to show team support offline and as hook for "support your team via your browser"
* possibly create collections that cater to soccer fans
* Barbara wants to get feedback on how to tie this in with other plans around world cup and how to coordinate with South America where this is likely to also be a huge topic.
* Possible twitter / social element to this show your support

==== Flags for each team ====
* Persona for each of the 32 teams:

===Social Media===
Owners - Sarah and Mary
* Twitter & FB to support all the various elements of the campaign/s

===Off-line - community based:===
Owners - Mary and Sarah
* We could hold viewing parties and distribute swag, asking that folks share pictures via a flickr group whilst they are watching / celebrating
* Would be pretty easy to use the swag request tool
* Swag: armbands / football shirts
* Based on a presence at the event we could
** Build a street team
** Hand out something fun
* Create football shirts for our own community and do something fun at Whistler
* Add the football t-shirt template to the community store. This would be a generic football t-shirt template, which allows anyone to pop in the colours of their country flag.
* Note: World Cup FINAL will happen during the Whistler Summit!!

====Action items:====
* Identify anyone going to the World Cup in South Africa.
** Jane to contact Mark Surman to see if he's attending
** Jane to ask Jono if he would put a call out at the Monday meeting
* Mary to check-in with Dan if we are already planning something football related for the summit.

==Other initiatives==

=== Presence at the World Cup - Drumbeat Project===
https://www.drumbeat.org/project/mozilla-world-cup

Have some kind of booth presence at the World Cup 2010 - have monitors available which can show Firefox in action, perhaps with soccer-related personas or themes (such as the Joga theme which was done for the last World Cup). Talk to end users about the benefits of using and or switching to open source products such as Firefox and Thunderbird. Have demonstrations of some of the Labs projects Mozilla is working on.

When all of a sudden six beavers came from Southwest Angry Buzz the forest quailed before the glare. The jar of trees was broken like pigeons singing.
