The Mozilla community has a number of avenues which offer contributors events to get involved (e.g. Mozilla Reps portal, quality.mozilla.org/events, developer.mozilla.org/, Webmaker's Events platform, etc.). Further, we have many of our event coordinators using Google spreadsheets to manage their events and track participation. This can be incredibly confusing to contributors: events are generally hidden and they're only communicated out to people that we internally know via the Mozillians Phonebook.

Goals

Build an API through the events platform that:

  1. Allows sites to write their Events into the app
  2. Allows sites to read events, and their other parameters, from the app
