><li><br/><br/><br | |||

></li></ul | |||
></li | |||
><li><b>Help Us decide upon a Short Catchy Name for the Project</b><ul><li>Youth Open Source Project is too long a name, especially for wiki URLs. We area talking about two different things here aren't we? 1) The Project Name 2) Wiki Name . Youth Open Source Project is not to long for 1) IMO</li
><li>Need a Short, catchy and meaningful (wiki) name for the Project, preferably one or atmost two words long. It should reflect the spirit of openness, youth contribution and the open web.</li

><li><b>NOTES & COMMENTS</b><ul><li><b>Youth Question Related:</b><ul><li>Top pick seems to be: <i>"How can you make your world a better place using the Web?"</i></li
><li>Only concern is that we use the term '<i>using the web</i>' rather than "<i>making / inventing</i>" as it isn't the language we use (turning users into makers). Need to refine a bit.</li
><li><br/></li | |||
><li><br/></li></ul | |||
></li | |||
><li><b>Name related:</b><ul><li>We need to be careful about using the word 'young' or 'youth' as the sole definer of partcipant in this project - as not all will idenify this way (ie: university students) -- Open Science Federation recently began a science blogging network for students, some university and some younger. The name "U20 Science"+1 brought them together :) in a positive way instead of "youth science" or the like. U20 Webmakers?</li

><li><b>QUESTIONS </b><ul><li>Will: a friend of mine had asked you at MozFest if there were connections between Ignite and the Webmaking Science Lab ... <a href="http://careers.mozilla.org/en-US/position/oQuSWfwS">http://careers.mozilla.org/en-US/position/oQuSWfwS</a> and at the time there were not. I can see how to get involved with Ignite but I'm wondering how to mesh Open Science Federation volunteers and projects with the new/future Webmaking Lab and whether any connective tissue has formed between you and them in the webmaking planning season? Thanks</li

- That means we won't have time for everything that's on the pad today. :(

- Questions
Youth Open Source Project (Sayak) (5 min)- Context:
- "Group of collaborators working on envisioning the worlds first Open Source Project developed exclusively by youth.
- Build frameworks and documentation which serve as distributed touch points, so that educators and mentors anywhere can get their youth participating in this project (which the youth will define)" -- Laura
- Question to Youth:
- "Help educators focus their particular group of youth and give them a simple frame to work within.
- Each locale will have a different ideas, and via collaboration and communication, youth around the world will decide on what this global project is.
- They'll figure out how all their different ideas tie together, submit napkin sketches and prototypes, and otherwise go through the process of both local and global collaboration."
- [WE NEED YOUR HELP :)]Help us formulate a question to ask these youth wherever they may be in the world here: <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Atz9K5aBPQDadGs1emNXWkhuTzBpVEVwY2E5SHFrT3c#gid=0">https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Atz9K5aBPQDadGs1emNXWkhuTzBpVEVwY2E5SHFrT3c#gid=0</a>
- Suggestions from last call:-
- How can you make your world a better place through the Web? not too catchy!
- How can the Web make your world a better place?
- What can you make for the Web that will lead to real world change?
- Help Us decide upon a Short Catchy Name for the Project
- Youth Open Source Project is too long a name, especially for wiki URLs. We area talking about two different things here aren't we? 1) The Project Name 2) Wiki Name . Youth Open Source Project is not to long for 1) IMO
- Need a Short, catchy and meaningful (wiki) name for the Project, preferably one or atmost two words long. It should reflect the spirit of openness, youth contribution and the open web.
- Have a suggestion? Add it to our existing list of suggestions or +1 existing names:
- WebBuilders
- Globalmakers
- Openwebbuilders

- Past Community Calls:
- NOTES & COMMENTS
- Youth Question Related:
- Top pick seems to be: "How can you make your world a better place using the Web?"
- Only concern is that we use the term 'using the web' rather than "making / inventing" as it isn't the language we use (turning users into makers). Need to refine a bit.
- Name related:
- We need to be careful about using the word 'young' or 'youth' as the sole definer of partcipant in this project - as not all will idenify this way (ie: university students) -- Open Science Federation recently began a science blogging network for students, some university and some younger. The name "U20 Science"+1 brought them together :) in a positive way instead of "youth science" or the like. U20 Webmakers?

- Hackable demos go alongside the labs
- We'd love any suggestions for hackable demos or experts to interview for the different topic areas -- will@mozillafoundation.org
- QUESTIONS
- Will: a friend of mine had asked you at MozFest if there were connections between Ignite and the Webmaking Science Lab ... Thanks
