Introduction

Where do you go if you want to get better at your web skills? How do you even know what's important to learn? The Web Literacy Standard comprises a map of competencies and skills that Mozilla and our community of stakeholders believe are important to pay attention to when getting better at reading, writing and participating on the web. Getting involved

There are several ways to get involved and give feedback on the standard:

• Use this feedback form to give an indication of what you like, any questions you have, and constructive criticsm
• Join us for our regular community calls
• Discuss the standard on the Mozilla Webmaker list
• Tweet @WebLitStd and/or use the #WebLitStd hashtag
• Respond to posts on the Web Literacy Standard blog

Roadmap

• February 2013 - Work begins
• February-April 2013 - Community calls working on the framework
• 26 April 2013 - Soft launch of first draft of Web Literacy standard
• 26 July 2013 - Request For Comments (RFC): milestone release of standard
• May-September 2013 - Feedback and iteration
• October 2013 - 'Code freeze' to finalise v1.0 of the standard
• 25-27 October 2013 - v1.0 of the Web Literacy standard launched at the Mozilla Festival
• November 2013 onwards - Organizations align with the standard
