MozillaID

The concept of a MozillaID is a single user identity/auth credentials that can be used across all Mozilla properties. This is a project for webdev to work on in the second half of 2008.

Scope

  • Which properties will use this? [1]
  • Which web services?
  • What problem are we hoping to solve?
  • Account signup/admin/banning/password reset
  • Do we want true SSO or just one account?
  • What requirements do we have:
    • technically
    • privacy
    • Open Web wise

Technology survey

  • What technologies are available? What fits our requirements?
    • OpenID?
    • LDAP?
    • Something else?

Timeline

  • Implementation planning
