Goals

Aragonese
  • Create or update style guide.
  • Improve translation quality with new Transvision tools.
Asturian
  • Create or update style guide.
  • Improve translation quality with new Transvision tools.
Acholi
  • Create or update style guide.
  • Improve translation quality with new Transvision tools.
  • Improve Translation quality.
  • Develop a recruitment strategy for Acholi localizers and other key locales in Uganda.
  • Review translation suggestions and submit the right ones.
  • Inputting more effort on the following projects; Firefox health report, Mozilla.org and Terminology. These projects need more translation work to catch up with the others.
  • Define l10n goals for next year.
  • Get a clear understanding of Mozilla’s global l10n plans and goals.

1.What does your l10n community hope to accomplish during the hackathon?

  • Receive input on methods and tools useful to the implementation of a possible locale, community centralized collection of translation reference guides. Input on the use of a reference glossary and language guide across projects.
  • Receive input on methods, and tools to increase the number of locale community members. How to establish and implement a recruitment plan or improve already existing ones.
  • Reevaluate the locale community directives and work plan.
  • Discussing L10n communities work, experience exchange.
  • Update on Mozilla's current and future projects.
  • Find out how valuable and viable would a free educational coding skills development and deployment program be for Mozilla and the L10n community considering the already existing platforms and possibly new ones. Usability of such a program as a recruitment tool across projects.

2.What topics would you like the L10n-drivers to lead a discussion on, either as a breakout session or with the group?

  • Local/global impact of existing and future Mozilla development plans on the free web.
  • Impact of localization programs on local access to the free web.
  • Future of the free web and Mozilla's role in it.

3.Would there be value in holding an open public time during the hackathon? This time could be used to:

  • Discuss L10n with interested university students.
  • Recruit new localizers for your locales.
