This page is being used to create a plan for www.mozilla.org to address comments raised in bug 345664.

Establish Identity

This section contains a proposed identity and hasn't been agreed on by the working group yet.

The first step in this plan is establishing what role the www.mozilla.org site plays today in the Mozilla community. We believe the site has evolved to address these two needs:

  • It is a portal that points people to other sites in the community.
  • It is a place to post content that is relevant to the whole community and not just to one segment.

Archive Obsolete Pages

Owner: David Boswell

Action Items: Archive pages on the site that are historically interesting, but no longer relevant to the community. It may make sense to move archived pages to another site instead of keeping it on mozilla.org

Migrate Content

Owner: Sheppy

Action Items: Move developer content to developer.mozilla.org and identify other content that may belong on other community sites.

Update Content

Owner: Simon Paquet

Action Items: Start by updating the Projects page.

Reorganize Structure

Owner: TBD

Action Items: Once content has been migrated, archived and updated it is likely that the remaining content will need to be reorganized.

Select Owners

Owner: TBD

Action Items: A module owner for the site needs to be identified that will make sure the site is following the identity established in this plan.
