As we move towards the future, many existing connected home products (Home camera / Thermostats / Lighting / Door Lock / Home Hub ) all require an app on your personal smartphone (leveraging smartphone’s display). Home is where many things are out in the open and shared among family members. Is Smartphone the best device for your future Connected Home? Why are shared home devices gets accessed by personal smartphones? Questions such as these give rise to our new project. Project Smart Displays is set out to explore further on the role of displays at home and understand what role displays might play in the future connected home and is there an opportunity for innovation.

Project overview

Project Smart Displays is onto a 8 week exploration where the first 4 weeks are to understand the user problems or opportunities. Based on the needs/problems identified, the later 4 week is to brainstorm and come up with product proposals. This page will continue to be updated as we have come up with hypothesis and
