Crashes
Go to the address '''about:crashes''' and tell us your latest crash IDs. We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.
Safe mode
If you close Firefox, then start Firefox in Safe Mode, does the problem still occur? For instructions on starting in Safe Mode, see ((Safe Mode)).
Test profile
Your Firefox settings and info are kept in a folder separate from the Firefox program, called your profile folder. Try creating a test profile, to see if the problem still occurs. See ((Managing profiles))
Probably an extension
Extensions can sometimes be the cause of problems. If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode, then you can disable your extensions one-by-one until you find out which one is causing the problem. See ((Troubleshooting extensions and themes))
Try clearing cache and cookies
Try clearing your cache and cookies. # Open the {MENU()}Tools{MENU} menu, then select {MENU()}Clear Recent History...{MENU}. # In the __Time Range to clear:__ drop-down, select __Everything__. # Click the arrow next to __Details__ to display the list of items that can be cleared. # Select both __Cookies__ and __Cache__. # Click {DIV(class=button,type=>span)}Clear Now{DIV}.
Webmail
Firefox is not an email program, so your problem depends on what site you are using for email. What site are you using?
Hotmail
It's a bug on the Hotmail website. Mozilla has contacted the Hotmail team and they are working on a fix. You can use a workaround provided in the ((Blank messages in Hotmail)) article.
about:support
We'll need some more info about your Firefox setup. Go to __Help > Troubleshooting Information__, then click __Copy all to Clipboard__. Open a reply to this post, and go to __Edit > Paste__ to paste the info from your Troubleshooting Information page.
about:config
In the ((Location bar autocomplete|Location bar)), type __about:config__ and press {TAG(tag=kbd)}Enter{TAG}. ** The about:config ''"This might void your warranty!"'' warning page may appear. Click {DIV(class=button,type=>span)}I'll be careful, I promise!{DIV}, to continue to the about:config page.
Go to profile (before telling a user to delete a file)
Go to __Help > Troubleshooting Information__, then click on __Open Containing Folder__. That will open Windows Explorer in your Firefox profile.
Update Flash
You're using an old version of the Flash plugin, which can cause problems. First update your installation of Flash. See ((Managing the Flash plugin))
Turning off personas
Go to __Tools > Add-ons > Themes__ Select __Default__ Click __Use Theme__ Restart Firefox.
Possible Malware

Create Master Password
1. Click __Tools__ on the top of the Firefox menu 2. In the drop-down box, click __options__ 3. Click the __Security Panel__ 4. Under Passwords, click {DIV(class=button,type=>span)}Use a master password{DIV} 5. A Change password window will pop-up. Please enter your new password twice.
Open new tabs in home page
