Who are Buddies?

SUMO Buddies are experienced contributors who want to help those new to SUMO.

In general, Buddies come in two "flavours":

Community Buddies

They make sure that new contributors in SUMO feel welcome and provide them with assistance. Community Buddies make sure new contributors know how SUMO works and are aware of the four contribution areas (CA) within SUMO (forum support, Army of Awesome, KB writing, KB l10n) and that they choose the most appropriate ones, based on their interests and skills.

They are the stalwart stewards of the SUMO community. Their motto is "No New Contributor Left Behind".

Mentor Buddies

They are specialists in one or more CA, and mentor the new contributors, helping them find the right contacts and tools, solve problems and gain more detailed knowledge about the new contributor's CA of choice.

They are the main sources of information about their expert domain. Their motto is "Knowledge Is Power, Power Is Responsibility".
