What

Tracking bug: 1141687

Improving navigation in Marketplace that includes:

• Fixing navigation bar on Firefox OS 1109260
• Platform filtering needs to be added at global level rather than the page level. 1127080, 978156
• UX team believes that there are some usability problems with the current implementation of the nav bar and category menu on all platforms.

Background

The background is that Phil has been working on some navigation improvements and incorporating some of the ideas of Syberia like the big search box. Couple with that is a long-standing bug on FxOS where the nav bar does not work properly. 1109260

Other issues have surfaced: platform filtering, notification systems, and opinions by the UX team that our navigation is not designed as good as it could be.
