Os Clubes Firefox (Firefox Clubs, FC) são grupos chave de Firefox Student Ambassadors (Estudantes Embaixadores do Firefox, FSA) em sua escola, que funcionam como elo de ligação da Mozilla nessas instituições.

Como um Clube Firefox, você poderá ter a chance de conhecer novos amigos e trabalhar como uma equipe para ajudar os outros a aprender sobre nossos produtos, crescer a comunidade Mozilla (em sua escola), sediar eventos e participar de campanhas!

O seu clube pode participar de atividades divertidas que vão ajudar a promover a Mozilla, o Firefox e nossa missão (oferecendo oportunidades para você ganhar mais experiência em tecnologia de código aberto e assumir um processo totalmente novo de liderança).

Estrutura

Estrutura

  • Os Clubes Firefox são diretamente conduzidos e tratados pelo Líder do Clube, também devem ser supervisionados pelo Líder Regional Embaixador (Regional Ambassador Lead, RAL) no seu país/região.
  • Um Clube Firefox deve ser composto por Firefox Student Ambassadors do clube da sua universidade/escola.
  • Idealmente deve existir apenas um Clube Firefox por escola/universidade. Para sistemas universitários, apenas um Clube Firefox por campus.
  • Um Clube Firefox pode definir outra posição de liderança em seus clubes ou dirigentes de clube, na medida do necessário ou seja Diretor de Marketing, Diretor de Recrutamento, etc. Juntos, eles devem compor o Conselho Executivo do Clube Firefox.
  • Firefox Student Ambassadors cadastrados que ao se inscreverem descobrem que não há qualquer clube em sua escola podem candidatar-se a criação do mesmo.

Estrutura de Liderança

Líder Regional Embaixador (Regional Ambassador Lead, RAL)

RALs são os encarregados dos Clubes Firefox e dos Estudantes Embaixadores do Firefox (FSA) nas suas regiões. RALs tem a autoridade de tomar as seguintes atitudes, se considerado necessário.

  • Facilitar o Treinamento de Liderança de Clube (CLT) offline.
  • Supervisionar Liderança do Clube/Eleição de dirigentes.
  • Orientar a liderança do clube no estabelecimento e na gestão do seu clube.
  • Conectar os Clubes Firefox e os Estudantes Embaixadores com a comunidade Firefox Student Ambassadors global.

Líder do Clube (CL)

  • Um Líder do Clube Firefox será o principal representante do clube para a equipe FSA regional e global.
  • Um CL deve fornecer liderança ao FC por projetos principais, eventos e equipes.
  • A CL deve fornecer treinamento aos membros do clube, passando sobre o que ele/ela aprendeu com o CLT e outros treinamentos.
  • A duração de um CL deve adaptar-se ao ano acadêmico da escola/universidade do FC. Isso é para garantir que a liderança é transmitida em conformidade com a transição do ano letivo.

Conselho Executivo do Clube

  • Tendo Dirigentes do Clube Firefox (CO) como parte para o Conselho Executivo do Clube será totalmente opcional para o mesmo.
  • Os dirigentes do clube devem estar sob o comando do Líder.
  • Um Dirigente de Clube deve desempenhar um papel específico para o clube, ou seja, marketing, publicidade, recursos humanos etc. Pode ser com base na função organizacional ou com base nas áreas de contribuição da Mozilla, dependendo do que os membros devem concordar com.
  • Posições sugeridas de CO:
    • Líder de Marketing
    • Líder de Publicidade
    • Líder de Relacionamento de Membros
    • Líder de Relações com Desenvolvedores
    • Líder de Educação Web
    • E outras posições acordadas pelos participantes/liderança

Membros

  • Clubes Firefox estão abertos a todos Firefox Student Ambassadors que estão atualmente associado com a escola. Somente FSAs cadastrados podem participar do seu Clube Firefox. (FSAs registrados são aqueles que se inscreveram para o programa global FSA).
  • Como um lembrete, o programa Firefox Student Ambassadors está aberto apenas para aqueles indivíduos que são mais de 18 anos e atualmente associado a uma instituição de ensino superior.
  • Não há limite para a quantidade de FSAs que pode estar em seu Clube Firefox.
  • O clube pode organizar campanhas de recrutamento em sua escola para reunir novas inscrições de FSAs.
  • Como este é um programa de voluntariado, os clubes não podem aceitar ou rejeitar inscrições.
  • O programa global não impõe qualquer processo de candidatura para aqueles que desejam participar de um clube. Contanto que você pode fornecê-los a prova de que você se registrou como um Firefox Student Ambassador (por exemplo, dando uma imagem da bem-vindo e-mail) estará apto. Clubes no entanto, podem escolher fazer entrevistas e um processo de introdução razoável, desde que não seja uma forma de aprovação/reprovação, mas sim um processo onde você possa conhecer mais sobre o FSA e seus objetivos.
  • Se você encontrar um Clube Firefox que restringe a sua adesão ou requer um processo de seleção, envie uma reclamação por e-mail para fsaeboard@mozilla.org sobre este assunto.

Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines

Club Establishment

  1. FSA expresses intent to establish a Firefox Club by filling out this form: http://bit.ly/fsacreateclub. The form will be open when there is an ongoing Club Lead Training wave.
  2. The FSA who applied for the club establishment shall be the Club Lead of the club, once establishment has been completed.
  3. The Club Lead shall then take the Club Lead Training. Refer to the Club Lead Training page for more information. (As per the FSA restructure, all Club Leads who took the CLT before Oct. 2014 shall take the revised CLT again.)
  4. Upon successful completion of the Club Lead Training and passing the CLT Evaluation Exam, the requester shall be declared as the Club Lead of the new Firefox Club and shall be given the link to register his/her club.
  5. The Club Dev't team shall then create the page on the Wiki. While this is ongoing, the Club Lead may now proceed on his/her initial steps in organizing the club.
  6. The Club Lead shall be notified when the Wiki page of their club is up.

Club Leadership Election

  • Established FCs shall have the capability to hold their CL/ EB elections every academic year.
  • The election shall be held every end or before the start of the academic year of the club’s school.
  • A reasonable application process may be held to screen candidates/ nominees, if deemed necessary. The EB/ RALs has the right to look upon this application process if needed to ensure that the process is just and fair.
  • Upon successful elections, the CL-elect shall take the CLT.
  • Upon completion of the CLT, the CLs shall proceed with their duties for the term.
  • In case the CL-elect is also a CL of the club last term and has completed the CLT on the previous term, he/she will be asked to fill out the CL-Elect Repeat Term Form instead of taking the training again. (note: this shall apply only to those elected CLs who took the version of the Club Lead Training made on and after Oct. 2014.)

Resignation

  • If a CL wishes to resign, he/she may bring it up to the RAL who shall help him/her in reconsidering the situation and talking to the members involved.
  • If a CO wishes to resign, he/she may bring it up to the Club Lead and their club’s leadership.

Impeachment

  • If, in a very unfortunate case, that the Club Lead gets inactive or is having a very bad reputation within the community/ club, members/ RAL may file for impeachment of the Club Lead.
  • In case such crises arise, the RAL shall administer a forum where the parties involved can take and agree to a solution.
  • If it is deemed necessary to proceed to the impeachment/ resignation, the RAL shall facilitate the election of the new Club Lead.
  • The CL-elect will then proceed to taking the CLT on the nearest CLT wave that he can join.

Official Recognition from the University

  • If deemed necessary, the Firefox Club may apply for recognition to their university.
  • The intent to have their Firefox Club officially recognized by the school shall be coordinated with the FSA EB so we can help you provide the necessary information to your school.

Recruitment Tips

See below some recruitment ideas, but be sure and check with your university's rules before proceeding:

  • Register your Club as an official organization on campus
  • Advertise your club through official school channels
  • Participate in official club and activity fairs
  • Give a talk on Firefox, Firefox OS and other Mozilla projects to a group or class on campus
  • Partner with other technology organizations or departments for an event
  • Advertise your Firefox Club over social media channels. For helpful tips and template updates, please see here

Budget and Gear

  • See the details of requesting swags (merchandise) for your events here.
  • You may also:
    • Ask the Reps from your region for funding support for your events. That is why it is very important to connect with your local communities.
    • Seek school activity funding. If you managed to become a recognized organization in your school, you may might want to explore this option.
    • Do fundraising activities. However, in doing so, ensure that you do not use the Mozilla name by making people think that their sponsorship is for Mozilla globally, and you are employed by Mozilla. It involves a lot of legal arrangements so it would be safer to present your club alone as the one wishing to solicit support.
