Summary

Mozilla Russia, UA FOSS, Odessa IT-Club and RootUA Media company are organizing a two-day conference in Odessa, Ukraine, Sept 7-9, 2009. The conference will have separate section officially called MozCamp Odessa 2009, the first Mozilla-sponsored community event in the Ukraine. The event will gather both Russian and Ukrainisn community members for two days of workshops, discussions and presentations.

Tracks

The L10n tracks and Managers tracks will consist of sessions/workshops/brainstormings/lightning talks all related to localization and communication management with EE communities.

The DEV tracks will encompass lots of different sub-areas (eg. Web 2.0, Mobile, Add-ons etc..).

  • Communication with local communities - finding the best ways and skipping the rough edges.
  • Mobile technologies and Web 2.0.
  • Mozilla as a platform for development (XUL/JS/CSS).
  • Mozilla marketing specific for Eastern Europe.
  • IT security and Mozilla.

A maximum of 200 participants can be invited to the conference sessions/workshops. (? needs confirmation)

Venue

The 2 day conference will be held at Odessa National University located in the city centre.

Flights/Trains and Hotels

All flights to Odessa are going via Kiev Borispol (KBP) airport (most of them have long transfer delay so prepare to wait). We are organizing transfer from ODS airport to city centre/or right to conference. Also possible to get a taxi or bus to city centre (just 20min by taxi or 30-40min by bus).
