This page provides guidance to people aiming to produce the most useful Monday meeting update from their area of the project.

Meeting Goals

The Monday meeting has 3 primary goals:

  1. Showcase the breadth of what happens in the project
  2. Focus community attention on specific things which need feedback or help
  3. Answer questions raised by the community

Secondarily, we also hope to:

  1. Increase community cohesion and cross-project awareness
  2. Ensuring openness and transparency
  3. Hand out whuffie

Therefore, please consider the following:

Do you need to give an update? It's OK if a particular area does not have an update on some or even most weeks. We still believe you are working hard :-)

What you plan to say should be one or more of the following:

  1. Encouraging
  2. Informative
  3. Motivating

Encouraging: tell people about cool stuff that has happened. Use this category sparingly.

Informative: answer questions you know the community has about what is going on in your area of the project.

Motivating: ask people to do things.
