SXSW Interactive takes place in Austin, TX from March 12-16, 2010. Interactive Festival brings together the world’s most creative web developers, designers, bloggers, wireless innovators, content producers, programmers, widget inventors and new media entrepreneurs. Five days of captivating keynote presentations and provocative panel sessions provide hands-on training as well as big-picture analysis of the future of this industry. In addition to the bountiful business opportunities at the Trade Show & Exhibition and the hands-on gaming fun at the ScreenBurn Arcade, SXSW Interactive provides a full array of exciting evening events to entertain attendees.

In a world where any video can be viewed on any platform, any time, what does the Web-based video experience offer that can't be found elsewhere? This panel will discuss how the browser experience can provide a more dynamic viewing experience. With experts and data from Dailymotion, the largest independent Web video site, and Mozilla, developer of the Firefox Web browser, the panel will present findings, information and insights on the near and far future of Web video and how to make sure your company is well prepared from a technology, content and marketing perspective.

Topics to be covered include new social media models, what content is succeeding on the Web and why, the impact of Open Video on all Web video and more.

  • Jetpack For Learning Design Camp (Philipp Schmidt, JFL Coordinator)
    • Up to 10 participants from the JFL Design Challenge will be in Austin during the week prior to SXSW. They will finalise their prototypes and develop a vision for Jetpack based social learning. A final Design Challenge winner will be selected and announced during Mozilla SXSW event.
    • Design Camp will be run by Allen Gunn, Andy Edmonds, and Brian King.
    • Participants to join in our meetup event and to recognize them at the event.

  • PCF - video tag uses
  • Add-ons/Labs has a synergy with Jetpack, Mobile for add-ons?
  • Have a social to highlight the various accomplishments of community members
  • Quick 5-10 introduction, and then have kiosks with different people to show off their contributions.
  • Possibility to do a hackathon
  • Mozilla Foundation may want to leverage a planned Mozilla social event to recognize participants in a proposed Mozilla Education design challenge.
