Calendar Test Cases

Please help the calendar project by entering test cases. Test cases will be removed from this page as they are added to Litmus.

Note that the Calendar Test Case Writing Day has been extended until August 9, 23:00 UTC!

Create new local calendar

1. Go to File | New Calendar File... or press Ctrl+L.
2. Select the "Local" radio button and click the "Next >" button.
3. Give the calendar a name, assign it a color and click the "Next >" button.
4. Click the "Finish" button in the resulting dialog.

* The new calendar should be listed in the Calendars list with his assigned name and color.

* An "Open" window will display, allowing the user to browse to and select a calendar file.
* The selected calendar will be displayed.

Delete Local/Remote Calendars
Steps To Perform Expected Results Product Regression Bugzilla ID 
1. Click on the "Calendars" tab. 
2. Initiate removing a calendar by selecting the calendar in the "Calendars" tab and click on the "Delete" button above.
3. A Dialog pops up, click "Ok" to delete the Calendar or "Cancel" to keep it.

* A Dialog should pop up, letting the user confirm the deletion.
* The calendar should not appear in the Calendar tab.
* All calendar events should dissappear from the calendar view (dosen't happen at the moment).
* The calendar file should be deleted from storage.

3. Put in the calendar's URL in the Location field

5. Log into the calendar, if required.
6. Create an event on the calendar

* Calendar Log in dialog is displayed (if login required).
* Calendar is created, associated with proper color.
* New Event (step 6) is created, associated with proper color.
* Existing events on the WebDAV calendar show up in Sunbird/Lightning

2. Expand the "Today","Tomorrow","Soon" Items
3. Select each of the Items under "View:" in the Agenda tab

* Items that are set to a time in the future of the current day should be shown under "Today" when this item is expanded, and dissappear when the item is unexpanded.
* Items in the past on the current day should not be shown under any circumstance.
* Items that are set to a time on the next day should be shown under "Tomorrow" when this item is expanded, and dissappear when the item is unexpanded.
* Items that happen one week in the future, but not on the current or next day, should be shown under "Soon" when this item is expanded, and dissappear when the item is unexpanded.
* When View: Tasks is selected, only tasks should be shown.
* When View: Events is selected, only events should be shown.
* When View: All is selected, any type of item should be shown.

Mini-Month Mouse Navigation

In the Mini-Month view, the following Steps can be taken: 
1. Click on the currently selected month
2. Click on the currently selected year
3. Click on the left arrow
4. Click on the right arrow
5. Click on a specific Day

* (1) A Dialog with the other Months appears
* (2) A Dialog with some other years in the past and future appears
* (3) The previous Month appears
* (4) The next Month appears
* (5) The Day is shown and selected in the current view type, the day is hilighted in the mini-month.

* A Box is drawn around the day that is under the mouse
* The Month is correctly shown

1. Go to http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/lightning/download.html and download the appropriate Lightning (a XPI file) for your platform.
2. Start Thunderbird. Go to Tools | Extensions and click the "Install" button in the resulting extensions dialog.
3. In the resulting file picker, locate the XPI file of Lightning, then hit Open.
4. Click "Install Now" in the resulting Software Installation dialog to install Lightning.
5. Quit and restart Thunderbird.

* After restarting Thunderbird, Lightning should be listed in the Thunderbird Extension Manager. You should also see the "Calendar" menu item in the menu bar and other parts of the Lightning overlay.
