Firefox2/In-Product Web Pages
***DRAFT***
Last updated: August 23, 2006 by pkim
Overview
This document outlines the proposed content for Firefox 2 in-product web pages. "In-product web pages" mean web pages that are integrated into Firefox, whether as confirmation pages that are presented upon updates to the browser, or as pages that are bookmarked by default.
For example, the First-run page described below is loaded the first time an end-user launches Firefox. In addition to updates to the set of previously included in-product pages, four new portal pages will be included as default bookmarks in Firefox 2.
Confirmation Pages
These pages are displayed for certain browser states. Currently there are two confirmation pages planned for Firefox 2.
First-run page
This page is displayed on the first launch of Firefox. In its current form it contains brief tips and links on Getting Started and Finding Out More. This page is currently not localized in Firefox 1.5 but is targeted for l10n for Firefox 2.
- The page will be moving to: http://{locale}.www.mozilla.com/{locale}/firefox/2.0/firstrun
- tracked by bug 345805

Please see bug 348165 for background on the new default bookmarks for new profiles.
The titles and URIs for these new default bookmarks are:
- Getting Started - http://{locale}.www.mozilla.com/{locale}/firefox/central/

- Customize Firefox - http://{locale}.www.mozilla.com/{locale}/firefox/customize/
