Better patches make for faster and better reviews. Faster reviews make for happier contributors. Tools can help make sure that submitters have an easier time submitting great patches the first time.

Things to tell submitters before they submit

  • suggest reviewer
  • suggest patch splitting beyond a certain size
  • warn about missing commit comment in patch (with matching bug number)
