Stage 1: Definition
1. Feature overview
Firefox Home Tab is a small pinned tab placed at the far left of the tab strip that will serve as the user's home on the Web. The plan is for this interface to be locally hosted, customizable, and personalized to the needs of each individual user.
Phase 1
- Bug 544819 - Create a basic Home Tab linking to the current Home Page
- Bug 585316 - Migrate homepage pref when we remove the home button
Phase 2
- Enhance the about:home content and leverage the work from the New Tab Page feature
- Full integration of tools/preferences into a tab page vs. drop-down menu

- We have a patch ready that will fix a few problems that enable us to finish the feature implementation. It was pushed to the try server but not checked in yet. bug 692339
- We made some simplifying assumptions that would help us get to some patch we can check in.
