a collective is a group of paid and volunteer contributors that are working together on a particular project area, such as the Creative Collective.
the Mozilla community are all contributors (core, active, casual) to the Mozilla project in aggregate. This encompasses both paid staff as well volunteer contributors.
a contribute group is a planning group where paid and volunteer contributors create strategies for bringing more volunteers into their projects.
a contributor to the Mozilla project is anyone who has spent time (either as a volunteer or as an employee of a Mozilla organization) towards the goals of the Mozilla mission. Contributors can be classified as casual contributors, active contributors, or core contributors.
an active contributor is someone who has volunteered substantial time to a Mozilla activity that involves interactions with others within the last 12 months. (Someone who answers questions on SUMO or localizes a Mozilla website)
a casual contributor is someone who has volunteered small amounts of time in an activity that doesn’t necessarily involve interactions with other community members. (Someone who has submitted a crash report or feedback on input.mozilla.org)
a core contributor is someone who has a leadership position in one or more Mozilla project areas. (A module owner or peer, a Mozilla Representative)

a mozilla rep is a Mozillians who has been accepted to Mozilla Reps (ReMo), a program to empower and support volunteers who want to become official representatives of Mozilla in their region/locale.

a steward is a member of a project team that is creating and executing a plan for bringing in volunteers to Mozilla.
a supporter is someone who has shown an interest in Mozilla without having made a substantial contribution back to the community yet. (Someone who has downloaded a beta or has liked Firefox on Facebook)

a user is someone who uses Mozilla products but may not be aware of Mozilla’s mission or that there are volunteer opportunities they could get involved with. (Firefox user, Thunderbird user)

volunteer staff denotes those contributors to the Mozilla project who are not paid staff of the Mozilla Corporation, Mozilla Foundation, or other Mozilla affiliated organizations (Mozilla Online, Mozilla Japan.) Unless you are making a particular point related to paid status, prefer "contributor" or "community member".
