Summary

• The following is a test plan for testing the Click To Play feature on Alexa Top Sites
• Feature's wiki page
• bug 738698 - [meta] Users should have the ability to activate plugins on demand

Instructions

1. Install Firefox 17 from here

2. Start Firefox

3. Go to about:config and change the plugins.click_to_play pref on TRUE

4. Make sure you have plugins installed (Flash, Java, Reader, RealPlayer, Silverlight, Quicktime, etc)

5. Open Alexa Top Sites page

6. From the top 100 list choose the sites (that are using different plugins) you want to test the CTP feature on

7. File bugs for issues encountered under Core :: Plugins in Bugzilla and record them in the Bugs section below

8. Add your results in the Test Results section below

Expected results

• When a page with plugin content loads, the plugin content should be overlayed with gray panel stating "Click here to activate the plugin"
• Clicking the notification should activate the plugin and the content of the page should be properly displayed
• Reloading the page should redisplay the block overlay
