This is a basic checklist for the Firefox 3 Beta 2 Release. This list is still under construction as we're working out the details of the proper update channels to use, etc. You can check here for a more detailed diagram that is also under construction.

1. Close the tree for code freeze at 11:59 PM PST, Tuesday Dec. 4th.
2. CHECKPOINT (after a few days bake time)
3. Code handoff
4. Build generates RC <-- WE ARE HERE.
5. QA tests RC
6. CHECKPOINT (on testing approval)
7. Build generates update snippets
8. QA tests update snippets
9. CHECKPOINT (on testing approval)
10. Website changes put up on www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com
    1. release notes, whatsnew, firstrun pages
    2. changes to product-details for beta release
11. Build pushes to mirrors, configures bouncer
12. QA tests mirrors, website changes
13. Website changes pushed live
14. CHECKPOINT (on testing approval)
15. Build pushes snippets live
16. QA tests live updates
17. CHECKPOINT (on testing approval)
18. Release announced
