Open issues/risks

  • Proposing a add-on by default also implies that the add-on will always be compatible. To prevent this, we'll not bundle the add-ons with Thunderbird distribution but rather point at them in a content tab, the 'Installation Tip of the Day'.

Provide a method of supplying users with commonly used add-ons to provide better awareness and easier installation of those add-ons.

The user installs Thunderbird or upgrades to a newer version: a list of recommended add-ons is displayed, with a short description and a direct link to install.
