What is the project: Over the next six weeks I will be collecting data around how Mozillians utilize Yammer — Productively or unproductively, positively or negatively?
Why are we doing it: It's no secret that we have a LOT of different ways to communicate, and that the sheer volume of communication can be overwhelming. Fittingly, the roadblocks to success survey identified communication as a significant area of concern. In particular, Yammer was identified as a source of tension and stress. With recent notable examples of Yammer discussions (from gmail to snacks), it is clear that we need to examine how our community utilizes Yammer as a tool, what role(s) we expect Yammer to perform, and whether it makes sense on an organizational level to continue supporting Yammer.
Over the next 6 weeks, I will be conducting research into how Mozillians use Yammer, to try to figure out how useful it is,
