Raul: How do we check if those pages are legal or not? In different parts of the world, some are legal in other parts some are illegal. | |||
Honza: Good question. Are those sites popular? | |||
Raul: Some of them are popular. | |||
Honza: We mostly care about wecompatibily between browsers, we tend not to focus on the content that a website is providing, but we do focus on how the browser is behaving. Some content might not be available in our browser, but the users will still access that website on the other browsers regardless if those are illegal or not. So we want to retain them on Firefox. | |||
Calin: There are some sites that present pop-ups, suspicious content, redirects to spam sites, etc, close to malware content. Should we look into them? | |||
Honza: This sounds like something that `NSFW` pages might present. What are you doing with adult sites? | |||
Calin: We test them, and act accordingly. But some sites are trying to trick the users into clicking on some suspicious links/pop-ups. | |||
Honza: That case is simple. We can not learn from that, the whole goal for our team is: we do it to identify webcompat issues and recommend the platform team to fix them. If there is nothing we can learn from the site, we can ignore them. | |||
Calin: Some users think it is a browser problem, which is not true. | |||
Honza: It is very time-consuming to figure out if it is a webcompat issue when diagnosing. I think this is the same for testing. | |||
Honza: regarding the if the stream is illegal or not and how we can act on them, I'll get back to you after I got a clear answer. | |||

Honza: What is the pattern regarding most of the issues that are fixed or nobody responding on the issue? | |||
Calin: Those issues are very mixed, so a pattern can not be clearly pinpointed. | |||
Honza: Are people responsive? | |||
Calin: Some of them are. | |||
Honza: How long do you wait for a response? | |||
Calin: About 12-14 days. After this, we will start looking into anonymous user reports. | |||
Honza: Because there you have nobody to ask for info, do you just close them or? | |||
Calin: We will treat them depending on the outcome (reproducible, worksforme, non-compat, etc). | |||
