= How do I become an editor? =

Editors should be experienced add-on authors in order to perform their job well. If you haven't authored any add-ons, then you won't be accepted. If the add-ons you authored are not listed on AMO, you can still apply if you can provide evidence of your authorship.
While we're grateful for your interest, the Addons Community Reviewer program is currently on hiatus. We'll make an announcement in the Addons forum on Discourse.Mozilla.org when we have more to share.

Before you apply, you should read the following documentation:

* [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/developers/docs/policies/ AMO Add-on Policies]
* [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/pages/validation Code Validation Tool Help]
* [[Update:Editors|Editors' Guide wiki]].

You can apply by sending an email to amo-editors at mozilla.org with the subject "AMO Editor Application" and the following information:
* Your name
* Your e-mail address (same as your AMO account)
* Your location and timezone
* Which products you use (i.e. Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, Sunbird, etc.)
* Which operating systems you can test on
* Any experience you have testing or creating extensions
* Who invited you to become an editor?
* How much time per week can you dedicate to reviewing add-ons?
* Any other relevant information

You may wish to join us in [irc://irc.mozilla.org/%23addons #addons on irc.mozilla.org] to start getting a feeling for how things work.
