The following is a list of things to be done to prepare for your event.


The following is a list of things to be done to prepare for your event.  These should all be done at least a week before the event takes place.
; Friday before


1. Create an [https://wiki.mozilla.org/QA/Test_Days/Planning_Checklist#Event_Page event page] on QMO.  You should see the event on the QMO front page.

2. Post a [https://wiki.mozilla.org/QA/Test_Days/Planning_Checklist#Mailing_List_Message message] to the [https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/ mailing lists].  At a bare minimum, you should post to dev-quality and dev-apps-firefox. Some tips for composing your message are listed below.

3. Verify cross posting of the event on [http://planet.mozilla.org planet] and [http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mozilla-QA/122167964300 facebook].  Planet usually picks up the post after 30 minutes; Facebook after a day.

4. Create a wiki page for the event using the [https://wiki.mozilla.org/QA/Test_Days/Template template].  Create the page at https://wiki.mozilla.org/QA/Test_Days/YYYYMMDD.

5. Tweet a link to the QMO event page using the [http://twitter.com/MozillaQA MozillaQA] twitter account.  The message should say something like '''come help us make Firefox better! <bit.ly_link>'''.

6. Send an email to [mailto:qa@mozilla.org qa@mozilla.org] asking for people to sign up as Moderators and Contributors. Be sure to link to the sign up section of your event wiki page.

7. Send an email to [mailto:mcolvig@mozilla.com Mary Colvig] asking for the event to be added to next week's [http://blog.mozilla.com/about_mozilla/ about:mozilla] newsletter.

8. Make a note in the [https://wiki.mozilla.org/WeeklyUpdates Weekly Update] Upcoming Events section
[ ] All-hands mention


NOTE: To make it easier to track bugs filed, you should set up a bug query which tracks all bugs with a whiteboard tag.  For example, "[l10n-testday]"
[ ] Solicit team for moderators

1. Reply to your mailing list posts reminding people that your event is tomorrow.  Be sure to reiterate the link to your event page.

2. Retweet the link to your event using the MozillaQA twitter account. For example, "Come help us test the Firefox Add-ons Manager tomorrow! <bit.ly link>".
