The initial patch for the Penelope extension (and associated files) was added 11/22/06 to bugzilla: [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359231 bug 359231]. This patch provides the familiar key mapping, icons, toolbar layout and  column layout. The patch has been updated numerous times, with the most recent update (alpha 19, updated in May and, as of July 9, 2007 still current) available at [http://wiki.mozilla.org/Penelope_Extensions http://wiki.mozilla.org/Penelope_Extensions]. Though visible progress on this release has been slow, the team has been working on underlying improvements and changes to the Thunderbird code to allow for effective future work. Eudora databases will need to be changed to Thunderbird format in this release.
