[[Thunderbird:Bugdays#Schedule|How to get help, how to get started, and schedule]] for Bugdays.

Bug days are conducted to reduce the number of UNCOnfirmed bugs in the bugzilla database, and to improve the overall quality of all bugs in the database. In more fun terms what we do is swat, squash, pound, massage, improve (in short, triage) bugs, both confirmed and unconfirmed, so they can be fixed by a developer at some point in the future.
Bug days are conducted to help bugs get fixed or otherwise closed by reducing the number of UNCOnfirmed bugs, and otherwise improving the quality of bugs in the database. In more fun terms what we do is swat, squash, pound, massage, stomp bugs into submission - improve/triage both confirmed and unconfirmed bugs so they can be fixed by a developer at some point in the future, and by closing bugs which cannot be reproduced.

'''Broadly, today's goal is to help shape and improve Thunderbird 24, and help users who want to test or report bugs.''' Part of today's goal in follow up on work done in [http://sietch-tabr.tumblr.com/post/51439387993/thunderbird-test-week Thunderbird 22 beta testing]. That work is continuing, so if you are so inclined please help by [http://sietch-tabr.tumblr.com/post/51439387993/thunderbird-test-week testing the beta yourself].
'''Broadly, today's goal is to help shape and improve Thunderbird 24, and help users who want to test or report bugs.''' Specifically, today we want to triage bugs reported in Thunderbird and the calendar addon called Lightning since 2012-08-01 (which is roughly when Thunderbird 17 development process started in earnest) :

Specifically, today we want to triage these sets of bugs which have been reported since 2012-08-01:
* [http://mzl.la/11GTuLz Thunderbird+mailnews bugs] ~530
* [http://mzl.la/11GTuLz Thunderbird+mailnews bugs] ~530
* [http://mzl.la/121ZEvS calendar bugs] ~160
* [http://mzl.la/121ZEvS Calendar/Lightning bugs] ~160
When triaging a bug report or before creating a new bug report you will want to use a version more current than version 17. So take prudent precautions and [https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/profiles#w_backing-up-a-profile backup your profile] before starting, and please download and use one of the following versions:
We also want to follow up on [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=870347 bugs filed from Thunderbird 22 beta testing]. That important testing is still in progress, so if you are so inclined please help by [http://sietch-tabr.tumblr.com/post/51439387993/thunderbird-test-week testing the beta yourself]. (see also [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1abIx2NpXQc5_BKSo7syt39uQWdYDJO33ru2PRjcDWgo/edit description of moztrap testing tool])
