Working Narrative: With OpenBadges, Mozilla has  a combination of technology and market-shaping partners which could shift how people engage, get recognized for their skills and contributions, and unlock new opportunities. Learn about OpenBadges and what it's shooting for.
Working Narrative: Open Badges make learning and credentialing work like the Web. Through digital badges, we can build an ecosystem of open learning with stackable, information-based credentials. Open Badges can be used for recognizing and communicating skills and achievements, building reputation and community, and finding peers and hires.

In this session, we'll provide a brief badges 101 and then explore the opportunity for Mozilla badges for the global community of Mozillians. Together we'll ask: What badges would compel contributors, staff and community members? What needs to be built and provided to support this large system? What are immediate steps for making these badges real and recognizable? Ultimately, is now the right time for a Mozilla-wide badging system?
