The Mozilla Foundation has three major programs for: Webmaker, Open Badges and New Communities. The individual goals of each program support Mozilla's broader mission of building a web where people know more, do more and do better.
'''The Mozilla Foundation team runs three major initiatives: Webmaker, Open Badges and New Communities. This wiki houses 2014+ goals, roadmaps and status updates for these initiatives. You can find info on other Mozilla-run projects including Firefox on the [https://wiki.mozilla.org main Mozilla wiki page].

This collection of wiki pages outlines the high level 2014 - 2016 goals for Mozilla Foundation overall and for each of these programs. ''This is a draft version of the site'' -- it will evolve into a MoFO planning hub including goals, roadmaps and status updates starting in January 2014.

MoFo's Webmaker, Open Badges and New Communities support Mozilla's broader mission of building a web where people know more, do more and do better. These initiatives share two specific goals for 2014+:

1. [https://wiki.mozilla.org/Webmaker/Roadmap Webmaker]
* Goal #1: 10x the community actively contributing to our initiatives. With the ultimate goal of getting 1 million new Mozillians by 2023.
**''How?''
***a. put in place clear engagement ladders across all initiatives and
***b. prioritize lead users 'lead users' who will help us build and teach.''
**''Metric:''
*** 10k active contributors for MoFo initiatives.

1.1 Appmaker
* Goal #2: grow adoption of Webmaker and Open Badges. With the ultimate goals of a world where the majority of people are 'web literate' and where learning works more like the web.
**How?
*** a. make our tools easier to adopt, use and plug into and
*** b. prioritize lead users 'lead users'.
** ''Metric:''
*** A majority of active contributors adopting Webmaker and Open Badges as part of their daily work or integrating into their own web sites.

2. Open Badges
As suggested above, '''2014 will include a major focus on lead users''': people already excited about our work. Get them to help us build our products, content and community. And, of course, get them to bring their friends.
3. New Communities

== PLEASE MOVE THIS STUFF INTO YOUR INDIVIDUAL PROGRAM PAGES ==

In 2014, we'll put our efforts into growing adoption of our products and programs by:

** Finding ‘lead users’ who want to build, teach and bring their friends.
** Making our tools easier to adopt, use and plug into.

Goal #2- Empower: gather next million Mozillians We want at least 1 million new Mozillians by 2023.
How? Focus on lead users in 2014: people already excited about our work. Get them to help us build our products, content and community. And, of course, get them to bring their friends.
In 2014, we'll put our efforts into growing community participating in our programs by:

** Finding ‘lead users’ who want to build, teach and bring their friends.
** Building systematic engagement ladders that guide and empower community.
=== Strategies ===

Strategy #1 - Teach: people about the web. We want to make the idea of 'web literacy' mainstream, with people teaching and learning it everywhere.

How? Use Webmaker to get people teaching their friends, students and colleagues about the web. Build web literacy curriculum and badges that anyone can use in their own teaching or products.
Strategy #2 - Build: Mozilla tools are building the values of the web into how people learn and create.

How? Use BadgeKit and Open Badges to build openness and interoperability into credentials -- and learning in general. Build Webmaker, AppMaker. etc. tools that give people ways to create that leverage the core values and capabilities of the web.
