The problem has been solved by the AMO-Browsing-for-SeaMonkey Add-on.
The Problem
There are many FireFox and Thunderbird add-ons that would work also for SeaMonkey after Conversion with the great Add-on Converter for SeaMonkey. But too few users know about this possibility, and currently too many steps are necessary to get the converted add-on

The Plan
Create a SeaMonkey add-on for following tasks

# Add a “SeaMonkey Download button" to add-on page view what will transfer the add-on URL to Converter if add-on ist not "SeaMonkey ready" and conversion is promising
# Check in “Works after conversion database“ how reliably converted add-on will work
# Give user a help for decision by a compatibility rating (based on list on SeaMonkey/AddonCompat, may be additional sources) for decision to

Project Details
Done
In between we have an add-on for this on github.
# Database showing add-ons what will work after conversion and also add-ons what will not work after conversion available here

ToDos
# done
# Test more add-ons and leave compatibility rating at SeaMonkey/AddonCompat
# check whether add-on Add-on Compatibility Reporter 2.0.5 can be used for a compatibility database for the planned download tool?
# Help texts
# Translation / Localization will be required for Help texts, UI

Possible Sticking Points
# Future of AMO is unknown.
# Will Mozilla plan only to allow installation of “signed" add-ons have impact?
# currently discussed database for compatibility rating (SeaMonkey/AddonCompat)
## only has 1 single maintainer
## is very vulnerable, because everybody can modify it
# Search Add-ons filter might make it impossible to find the Add-ons what are working perfectly with SeaMonky, at leas a part of the problem might be
## 1162864- Add-on find results from speech balloon not found in final search results
## 1139273 - Search Addons will not show most plausible hits
# Feedback by SeaMonkey/AddonCompat entries is time consuming and fault-prone, see 1145026#c28 -- Rrbd (talk) 22:47, 22 May 2015 (PDT)

Ideas
(Please liave your signature behind your idea)
* Try to get running Add-on Compatibility Reporter (1149016 - Add-on Compatibility Reporter 2.0.5 does not work with SeaMonkey), so that collective experience can be used for add-on-compatibility ratings instead of painful editing of SeaMonkey/AddonCompat -- Rrbd (talk) 22:44, 5 May 2015 (PDT)
* Create an AMO browsing extension that would add suitable converter buttons to AMO and possibly fix some other issues that SeaMonkey users come across at AMO. The idea is for this extension to be bundled in SeaMonkey. Initial proposal: 1145026#c17
* Encourage users to share experience with converted add-ons -- Rrbd (talk) 21:56, 17 May 2015 (PDT)
** A possibility might be some Standard User Fededback email what can be launched by an additional Feedback in the icon and ask to answer the user with yes or no for some questions like
:: Installation: ok/nok
:: Function: ok/nok
:: Comment for problems
: May be even automated processing for the e-mails might be possible  -- Rrbd (talk) 22:40, 22 May 2015 (PDT)
:: Sample for such a [mailto:larry,dan?cc=mike&bcc=sue&subject=Feedback%20%3Caddonname%3E&body=Please%20add%20Trailing%20y%20or%20n%20for%20Yes%20or%20no%20ot%20the%20questions&body=Installation%20ok?%20&body=Function%20ok?%20&body=%20&body=Comment%20concerning%20Malfunctions:%20 mailto link]; Extension name has to be inserted by some python magic. -- Rrbd (talk) 23:03, 22 May 2015 (PDT)
* May be we should split add-on compatibility information into the existing Wiki page with tables for the Add-On Converter Button and an additional new page "Add-on compatibility details" with detailed user experience information. -- Rrbd (talk) 22:53, 17 May 2015 (PDT)
* We will need add-on-version related compatibility ratings, especially because some add-on programmers offer experimental beta versions -- Rrbd (talk) 04:35, 21 May 2015 (PDT)

Order of actions
# Simply the button with basic function "Transfer add-on-URL to Converter". there will be a hint "all on your reisk, please read SeaMonkey/AddonCompat before you install. on Converter page nearby download link
# User Feedback Solution (email? something else?)
# Database for user experience: "works fine ... does not work at all"
# final version bundled to SeaMonkey.
# Improving AMO search for SM needs. Currently many add-ons wha wiould work after conversion will not be shown in search hits for SeaMonkey users.
