MDN/Doc Sprints/2012April

We're planning an in-person doc sprint for April 27-29, 2012.

Dates: April 27-29, 2012

Location:

• Friday: Mozilla office in Mountain View, California. (Holodeck conference room)
• Saturday & Sunday: Mozilla office in San Francisco. (Boardroom conference room)

Topics

Typically we focus on Web standards (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG, MathML, etc.), but other areas of MDN such as Mozilla technology (apps, BrowserID, XUL, XPCOM, etc.) or the Mozilla project (building, testing, localizing) are all fair game.

Some topic areas where MDN is lacking and needs more content:

• Kuma
• BrowserID (Persona)
• Clean up the guide to XMLHttpRequest. Needs to be turned into a series of pages instead of one monolith, and needs to be browser agnostic.
• Boot-to-Gecko
• Big push on CSS Reference and tutorials\
• WebAPI
• Pick among the many dev-doc-needed bugs
• Update IndexedDB docs

Schedule

• Friday: 9:30am to 5:30pm PT (16:30 Fri to 00:30 Sat UTC)
• Saturday: hours TBD.
• Sunday: San Francisco office, hours TBD.

Logistics

• Out of town visitors are staying at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco.
• Airport-to-hotel transportation is by Gurvinder of RJ Travels (408-483-1313).
• Thursday: Visitors arrive in the SF Bay Area, California.
• Friday, Mountain View office:
  • 7:20 Leave hotel (transit itinerary (PDF))
  • 9:05 Arrive at MV office, get settled
  • 9:30 Get to work!
  • 12:30 Lunch
  • 5:30 Break for dinner
  • 7:30 Depart for SF (transit itinerary (PDF))
• Saturday: San Francisco office; Late afternoon excursion to Sausalito; ferry there, have dinner, taxi back.
• Sunday: A few visitors depart Sunday evening.
• Monday: Rest of visitors depart.
