Owner: Justin Scott Updated: 2011-07-6
In 2011, our key initiatives are focused on platform, performance, and penetration. These are the 3 most important things for us to focus on, and our goal is to make the following statements true by the end of the year. PLATFORM: Firefox is the most attractive platform for browser add-on development, PERFORMANCE: Add-ons don't degrade Firefox performance, PENETRATION: 60% of Firefox users use extensions.

Owner: Sid Stamm Updated: 2011-07-6
The vision behind Mozilla's 2011 privacy roadmap is focused on users, calling for increased anonymity on the web, starting with sensible privacy defaults, giving users the ability to make informed choices about disclosing their information, facilitating web transparency so users understand how their data is being collected and used, and allowing for flexibility while maintaining sensible baselines for those who are not interested in privacy.
Syncicon.png Sync 2011 Roadmap
Owner: Jennifer Arguello Updated: 2011-07-6
As an organization, we have three main areas of focus: Desktop, Mobile and Apps. Sync and other Services (such as Identity, Social) form a critical foundational piece for each of these areas. Not surprisingly, the priorities for Sync are driven a lot by what we are hoping to achieve on each of these major focus areas. Additionally, there are various areas of user pain that we should address.

Caution plug web.jpg Plugin Interactions Roadmap
Owner: Kev Needham Updated: 2011-07-6
Over the past year we've raised user awareness of content plugins, and improved their interactions with them through the plugin check page and out-of-process plugins. In 2011 we need to continue to educate users about plugins and how they work, and simplify the installation and update process with Firefox. We'll make it easier to install and update the most popular plugins (e.g. Adobe Flash and Reader, Microsoft Silverlight, etc.) and will act as a liason between plugin developers and users. We'll continue to expand and improve our relationships with plugin authors, and proactively work with them to ensure that the content consumption experience is the best it can be for users.
Services.png Third Party Services Roadmap
Owner: Kev Needham Updated: 2011-07-6
Firefox makes use of a number of third party services to protect and serve its users. In most cases, how those services are presented to the user - if they're presented at all - hasn't changed since their implementation. The Services roadmap will focus on identifying and integrating third-party services into Firefox, as well as how we can facilitate discovery of those services. For 2011 Roadmap, we'll look at enhancing search and plugin management offerings, along with how we might add 404/NXERROR suggestion and social messaging/notification services to Firefox and other Mozilla products (in addition to the Sharing features being considered).
FennecLogo.jpg Firefox for mobile 2011 Roadmap
Owner: Jay Sullivan Updated: 2011-07-6
Firefox for desktop revolutionized the browser market by driving innovation and creating diversity, which opened the web to a new generation of users and applications, and inspired and empowered web developers. With the dramatic shift from desktop computers to mobile devices, people are going online anywhere they go rather than browsing the web at home or at their office desk. However, most parts of the web are not optimized for mobile access. Until now. We want to deliver a product and services that do not only provide the best mobile web experience, but also set new standards: Firefox for mobile launched on Nokia’s Maemo Platform early 2010. Firefox 4 brings the Firefox experience to mobile devices running the Android operating system. This roadmap describes how the mobile web experience will evolve with new features and technology in 2011 and beyond.
FirefoxHome.jpg Firefox Home 2011 Roadmap
Owner: Thomas Arend Updated: 2011-07-6
We at Mozilla believe that the web should be accessible and easy to use anywhere you go. Today’s mobile devices make it particularly hard to browse complex web pages that were not optimized for the mobile web. And nobody likes to type much on virtual keys or on small mobile keyboards anyway. Browsing on mobile devices should be easy, fast, fun, and secure - across all platforms. That is why we launched the Firefox Home app for iPhone in 2010. Firefox Home uses Firefox Sync to give you on-the-go access to bookmarks, open tabs, and browsing history from Firefox on your laptop and desktop computers and from your other connected mobile devices so you can type less and browse more. The Awesome Bar is the innovative way for accessing your online life with just one touch. And you can even share your favorite links easily with your friends. You can download Firefox Home from the iTunes App Store today. This roadmap describes how Firefox Home will evolve from a native iPhone application into a cross-platform Web Application for a seamless Firefox web experience.
