A central aim of ReMo is to make it easier for Mozillians to represent Mozilla, but also in a more structured and consistent way, that way the broader community can benefit from their efforts even more.

The following is a list of SOPs that will be very useful to all Mozilla Reps.

What is an SOP?
A SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) is a written document or instruction detailing all steps and activities of a process or procedure. (see more)

Of course, no one is forced to follow these SOPs, but they're there for whoever wants to use them and naturally, Mozilla Reps are strongly encouraged to read through them.

Reporting Your Activities

Reporting back on a regular basis is a crucial part of your role as a Mozilla Rep. This involves documenting and sharing all your activities in the past month so that your mentor can see your progress and support you where needed, but also so that the broader community can have full visbility on all the amazing work that you are doing. To this end, a very simple Monthly Report form was developed to enable Mozilla Reps to report back easily, quickly, and efficiently.

Organizing your own event

Hosting a Mozilla event is a lot of fun but involves a little bit of preparation of course. Here's some standard procedures that can help make your event a success.

Reporting about an event

Organizing or participating in an event is usually a memorable experience and the more that experience is shared with others, the better. As a Mozilla Rep, it's really important for you to report about the events you're involved in by blogging, taking photos of their events and reporting back to your mentor and fellow Mozilla Reps.

Requesting swag

Swag is central to promoting Mozilla and raising brand awareness. It also makes people happy, especially funky original swag. As a Mozilla Rep, you can request swag from a specific stock reserved for the Mozilla Rep program using a special form:

Each Mozilla Rep is required to create his/her user profile. This user profile not only help others know who you are and how to contact you, but it also lets you document all your activities and areas of expertise as a Mozilla Reps, for anyone to see.

Leaving ReMo

As for any activity, sometimes you feel like it's time to move on to new challenges. If you decide that it's time for you to leave ReMo, make sure to follow standard procedures for a smooth departure from the program and make it easier for you to return if ever you decide to become ative again as a Mozilla Rep.

Mentoring

The Mozilla Reps program involves learning about tools at your disposal that will make it easier for you to request budgets and swag for your events, to find templates for presentations, flyers to print etc... It also involves becoming familiar with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure consistency and ease. When a Mozilla Rep first joins the program, a mentor helps him/her get started and get familiar with these various tools and SOPs. The mentor is also available for any type of guidance or support along the way. Mozilla Reps are strongly encouraged to liaise regularly with their mentor, jsut to keep them up to date with their activities but also to stay up to date with latest Mozilla Rep news.
